Subscription Promotion System
The Challenge
Udemy's promotions program influences over 56% of GMV and dominates marketing channels for 11 to 14 days each month -- but temporary promotional pricing was restricted to marketplace transactions only. Extending this capability to the Personal Plan subscription offering required building an entirely new promotional framework.
The Approach
Designed a framework allowing marketers to configure diverse promotion types including fixed-price and percentage-based discounts with defined timeframes. Mapped how promotional messaging would appear across all channels -- web, mobile apps, email, and SMS. Built the administrative interface enabling campaign creation and management.
Key Outcomes
A multi-channel subscription promotion system giving Udemy's marketing team the tools to run Personal Plan promotions at the same scale and flexibility as their existing marketplace campaigns.
